Here at Elite Trees, we work on projects of all sizes and complexities. One of those recent jobs was the safe removal of a tree in Nacton, Ipswich. The tree had started to cause a few problems and pose a danger, so we were called in! As some of the most experienced tree surgeons in the area, we had the skill and knowledge needed to carry out the job without any problems.
The Challenge
This job involved a birch tree that had a significant amount of rot at the base. Such was the damage that the tree itself was beyond saving, and it was starting to fall over. It was situated right next to a house and power lines, so it was vital that we intervened as quickly as possible. The presence of the power lines did make preparing for the job more complex – but we soon came up with a plan and were able to proceed.
The Solution
Before we got started, we made sure that the power lines were switched off. We liaised with the local electricity supplier to ensure that none of the cables would be live – allowing us to get to work safely. Our number one priority is the safety of everyone on site, and after an initial assessment it was clear that the tree wasn’t stable enough to climb. As a result, we erected an access platform around it, ensuring that our tree surgeons could safely work at height. We have a number of professional grade chainsaws at our disposal, and we quickly selected the right one for the job. In no time at all, the tree was safely removed – allowing the power to be switched back on and the property owners to breathe a little easier.
