Here at Elite Trees, we are called upon to help property owners with all kinds of issues. No two days are the same for our team as they go about their jobs – and one of the most recent we worked on was in Melton, Ipswich. A property owner was starting to see some problems with an oak tree, and we were called in to determine what the best course of action would be.
The Challenge
Our highly experienced tree surgeons are able to quickly assess a situation once they arrive on site. It quickly became apparent that the oak tree had become infested with Honey Fungus. This particular kind of fungus affects the root system of the tree, and over time the tree becomes unstable. Honey Fungus is a very common disease throughout Suffolk, and one that our tree surgeons see a lot. This particular tree had Honey Fungus at the base, and the crown was also dying back. Sadly, the disease had progressed too much, and the tree had to be removed to maintain the safety of the client and their neighbours.
The Solution
As soon as we knew that we would have to remove the tree, we got to work planning the best way to do this. Fortunately for those working on the site, there was good access into the rear gardens for our trucks and equipment. This meant that we were able to prepare the site with minimal delay and disruption, and we could get to work right away. We used the Wumag WT260 access platform to work on the tree, and within a short space of time we were able to fell it with no issues. We made sure that all persons and property were safe during the process, and in no time at all we were packing up our tools.
