This certainly is a lovely spot in the glorious countryside of Suffolk, and our services were much needed for the Georgie Webster Equestrian Centre based in Claydon, Ipswich. The land surrounding the centre is full of trees and hedges that needed their post seasonal trim.
The project
We are often asked to work at visitor centres or locations that welcome members of the public to enjoy the facilities available. The equestrian centre is a well-known local school of reputation, teaching all ages and standards on how to enjoy this popular activity.
Our time at this beautiful spot, albeit it short, was to spend some considerable time trimming and pruning the hedges around the centre. We trimmed various conifer hedges and trees, pruned mature fruit trees and lifted and shaped a beautiful established Oaktree. We also pruned and shaped a Lime tree and numerous Maple trees. All, where required, with the use of one of our Access Platforms.
To carry out this work, we had to be aware of the sensitivities of the location. Horses can be easily spooked with machinery and activity, so we carefully set about our work, fully aware of the environment we were working in. As well as horses, regular clients were visiting the centre to enjoy the schooling available.
The outcome
This type of project is always rewarding. Summer growth, although full of greenery and autumn colours can look a little untidy. So, being able to shape and mould the landscape ready for the Winter and the anticipated new growth in Spring and Summer next year was all about timing. A reason why we are very busy at this time of year.
